Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ovarian, cervical, vaginal, vulvar, tubal, and uterine cancers.

The Division offers a full range of treatment options, including surgery and chemotherapy. Patients benefit from an interdisciplinary approach with radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, and the Cancer Supportive Services specialists.

Our medical team is committed to clinical care, teaching and research. Laparoscopy, the use of a fiberoptic probe with video capabilities, is used extensively in the staging of cervical, endometrial and ovarian carcinoma. This technology has improved the diagnosis of early forms of gynecologic cancer that are not detected by routine examinations.
